Strong winds can easily rip off shingles or drive away the granules on the shingles. You will likely notice granule loss when you find granules on your gutters. These issues leave your home vulnerable to water and structural damage. Address these common shingle issues as soon as you notice them.

4. Animal and Pest Issues

During the spring, animals and insects come out from hibernation, searching for food and creating habitats. These pests and animals often target the roof and attic. Most animal and pest issues start in spring. Sometimes, the presence of pests may go unnoticed. However, if you find droppings or sense foul smells, these can be signs of a potential pest problem.

Any physical damage on your roof, such as loose shingles, a damaged chimney, and any hole in your roof, will provide the gateway for termites, ants, birds, raccoons, and squirrels.
